Smash it in 2016

Happy New Year! If you missed it, the image on your left is the flyer design that all States/Territories will soon receive for use in promotion of Shuttle Time activities. Here are some other updates since we last caught up.

Members are now in the process of implementing the projects nominated within their Participation Agreements. I look forward to be in regular contact with Members to discuss and assist in the progress of these projects that grow both participation and membership numbers in 2016.

Para-badminton continues to make strides in Australia. Badminton NSW have now kicked off an initiative called 'INspire' which gives an opportunity for people with disabilities and able-bodied people to play badminton together. This will all start with a Come & Try Day on Sunday 28 Feb in partnership with key stakeholders in the disability sector. NSW now joins VIC and WA to offer para-badminton. Please let me know if Members wish to receive more information about these initiatives or would like assistance to set up similar programs.

BWF has launched websites for Fans, Corporate, Superseries, World Championships. This appears to be an interesting move as BWF attempts to tailor communication to different parts of the community but could possibly be a challenge for media agencies and member associations trying to navigate through numerous links for information, but I guess as with all 'change' - time will help us get used to it!

Upcoming participation programs and events: 14 people from all around the country are confirmed to attend the national Shuttle Time Tutor Training Course in Sydney from 30-31 January. Also, keep an eye out on an announcement at the end of this month as all certified Shuttle Time Teachers, Tutors, Trainers will be invited to be part of Activation and Competition for 2016.
